I got a present in the mail from my fabulous cousin (who writes the blog Handmade Homeschool) with this note: Open on a rainy day.
It’s Portland. There are a lot of rainy days.
But even just looking at the package lifted my spirits, so I waited. Until now. (Nadia’s decided she no longer likes to sleep at night, and so I needed a boost.)
I opened the beautifully wrapped hand-stamped gift to find this book of inspired crafts by SouleMama, Amanda Blake Soule:

The Creative Family
We’ve been crafting since.
Making cards, a pencil roll for my husband’s birthday, felt blocks. And it even inspired me to get going on setting up a dedicated studio – which includes a total gutting of our basement (work-in-progress) and re-arranging our office so that it’s brighter, roomier and less cluttered.
